Waldo~64
General~42
Waldo~WPR Sandy had an incident with Waldo that was of some concern. She thought Waldo was choking on a rawhide bone and went to take it from him~he took the remains of the bone and moved away from her, guarding it. I did a short behavioral evaluation with Waldo today and found a similar guarding response with the rawhide bone, although no response to removing his favorite toys, balls, or with a kong toy stuffed with dehydrated meatballs~a very high value treat. Everything else with Waldo appears to be going well, and I will bring a rawhide to Paul so he can start doing object exchanges with it.
Star~She was not herself this week~Mark has said that she is acting strangely~sad, clingly. WPR Heather has said the same thing and also let me know that she had a loose stool and an accident in her crate. If her affect does not improve this week it may be time for a vet visit.
Chesty~Chesty had a difficult time during free play with Skydog, a puppy younger and smaller than him~he was bullying and was not able to be called out of the interaction. He is still having trouble with LEAVE IT and THANK YOU and is still pulling on the leash and refusing to down when his handler isn't using food lures.
General~Is still not able to settle during alone time in his crate during daylight hours, but is ok at night. The rest of his training is going well, his socialization and training are right on schedule.
WPR class~we worked on heeling under distraction, walking on a loose leash, and how to get the dogs to sit and down and hold.
