Star~72
General~65
Jewel~37
Roger~29

Star~Got a call from Star's WPR on Saturday night. She had an extremely loose stool so I told Heather to fast her until she was returned to Mark on Sunday. I will check in on her tomorrow. We actually talked about toileting on different surfaces in class~all of the dogs need to go on command on any surface.
Star is still unsure in crowded situations (she tries to pull to get out of a crowd) and it will be something that we're focusing on for the coming weeks. Star is 1 year old now. Her retrieve is really coming along well, she was so excited to play "the game" on Friday during class! She retrieved a plastic dumbell, a wooden dumbell, a cell phone, a pen, keys. None were thrown, all were placed and dog was sent to the table, the pool table, the floor. No problem with metal, but does shake things sometimes.
I switched her from a backpack back to a cape. We tried the cape for over a month and she still disliked it~to the point where she started balking at the "get dressed" command, so back to the cape on Friday and perhaps we'll try the cape again.
I also fitted her with a new Halti, hers seemed to be too tight.

General~Obedience looks good, he has a habit of sliding his back end to go into a down and is very slow to respond on the rubber floor at AD. Assignment this week is to have Mike in the w/c for at least two hours a day. Mike said he had a very strange reaction to a pen this week~got extremely excited and started spinning and whining. I told him that General's WPR Lisa got a lesson in clicker last week and was helping with his retrieve...using a pen. Good job Lisa!

Jewel~At 17 weeks Jewel is still in puppy class but is also participating in a drop-in obedience class on Saturday mornings. She is good with people and appropriate with the puppies. She and Roger are friends, as are she and a Malinois puppy named Rockit. She even enticed Rose to play with her for a minute or two! I will keep her in puppy K as long as she's appropriate for the group.
She seems to be developing too much of a fixation with her crate so while WPR Dawn was participating in a class with her other dog, Jewel was on a "place" command instead of being in a crate. She was great, no problems at all. Her obedience is coming along well, focus on handler is excellent and stays are getting better. I asked WPR Dawn to get her interviewed for daycare asap.

Roger~13 weeks. No accidents this week, hooray AJ and Rene! Roger's obedience is coming along, he knows most of his basics as well as stays and does extremely well without distractions. His only issue is occasionally grabbing the leash and wanting to play tug-of-war. We're all working on it. :) He passed his daycare interview with flying colors and had his first daycare experience on Sunday morning. I can't wait to see how he did!

I brought Jewel's friend Rockit to class this week, she is a 14 week old Belgian Malinois puppy, owned by one of my students. She is extremely appropriate and sweet and all of the handlers got to say hello and work a bit with her. She was a huge distraction for the puppies, Roger had a difficult time working around her.

During WPR class we worked on off side sit and heel (side), had a "staring contest", and worked on about turns with a loose leash. On Saturday morning the dogs in puppy class (Jewel, Roger and Rose) learned restrained recalls. The dogs in the drop-in obedience class (Jewel, General and Star) practiced BACK and got to meet a firefighter in a turnout coat, helmet and mask. They were all happy to greet, no fearful reactions at all. They played a game called "musical sit and downs" on the same idea as musical chairs~last one to sit or down is out. They were all excellent!
