Training log, 101008

We have introduced a new food this week~By Nature(NEADS national sponsor!) and the dogs are still getting used to it. It is a much smaller kibble so more dense when you feed. We may adjust feeding requirements, so please ask the dogs handlers over the next few weeks about how much they should be eating.

They're all getting Nupro supplement, you will find in in thier food canisters.

WELCOME DEACON! DOB is 06/22/08, he is a "red fox" lab from Guiding Eyes with what appears to be medium energy and an eagerness to please. The red fox refers to color, not disposition. :) He appears to be settling in well at PCC with his new handler, Scott and Jewel and General who he loves.

General~68~General is working on faster downs, down in motion and drop on recall. He is still impulsive when out with his weekend handler and has a difficult time paying attention when other dogs are around.

Jewel~74~Jewel's appetite is still terrible but she continues to gain weight, a bit at a time. Her retrieve is excellent, she is working on opening and holding doors.

All of the dogs were somewhat distracted at training this week, I brought Radar into class with me, a rescue Chihuahua. He is a small fast moving dog who is unfamiliar to our pack~a difficult distraction for them!
