Deacon~Deacon's handler informs me that he is still going through a puberty stage and is having difficulty maintaining focus and completing everyday tasks on the first command. His affect is still calm and quiet, no problems there. He is rather sluggish in the heat, as are most of our pups at this age and younger. To try to correct the issues that have arisen, we have moved Deacon to a training collar and it will be on whenever he is out of his crate.

Sally~She is doing well with fetch and will now fetch the dumbell correctly and sit or "up" after the retrieve. She will also retrieve several other items with a soft mouth. Her attention to handler is excellent with or without food and although she will struggle if there are other dogs at play, she does not lose focus when other dogs are close by.

JC~She is doing well for her age, nice attention and getting good at basic obedience. She is learning to focus when there are other dogs around, and is extremely sensitive to both verbal and physical correction.

All of the dogs attended "Boogeyman class" this week~while we worked, we played cd's of thunderstorms, babies crying, and fireworks (20 minutes each). I dressed up as a firefighter, complete with mask and helmet. We walked on flattened X pens, metal grates, plastic grates, platforms on wheels that rolled under the dog's feet, and jumped onto a big box. No negative reactions from any of the dogs~EXCELLENT JOB!
