On August 2 we took Deacon, Elsa and Mighty along with several of our CCI friends to Six Flags amusement park in Agawam, MA. All of the dogs were essentially very well behaved~they said hello to many, many people there, as well as charectures of Pepe LePu, Tweety Bird, Bugs Bunny and Scooby Doo, who really liked them. They danced with the Six Flags man, had pictures taken, worked around and under loud, fast moving rides, watched a concert by a rock band and had to ignore lots of running kids, food on the ground and puddles everywhere~it rained lightly for most of the afternoon. They also rode on a tram to and from the parking lot with very little room for them to turn around in. This was a day into evening trip so all of the dogs were worked in the dark as well as daytime.
Elsa had an accident soon after we arrived, but was fine for the rest of the day.
Mighty is still alert barking while in the car and exhibiting a low growl on occasion when he hears a sound that he cannot identify. None of that on the field trip, however, he was great.
Deacon still appears to be handler sensitive. While with WPR Dawn he was too interested in smells on the ground and was always just a bit too far forged. Obedient but slow to respond. When Jim took his leash he immediately came to a perfect heel position and stopped sniffing.
