Rubin went to the NEADS kennel for an eval by trainers Erin and Christy last week. He was tentatively matched with a 40+ year old man. This is not written in stone, just an idea.
Here are the things that he needs WPR to work on:
Backpack on and off.
Attention in public
Ignore cats while working
Find open backed stairs to work on.
Visit hockey rink
Be settled while handler is in a kneeling position
Gerald:
Retrieve keys, remote, cell phone, wood and or metal cane
Light switches on and off
Stand and Brace on stairs and inclines and to assist client back to a standing position if he should fall.
Open heavy doors.
Merlin:
Doing well on HOLD on door and with objects.
Switched back to fish based food, less scratching.
Duke:
Pulled muscle injury last week, rear left leg. He was in for two weekends to rest it, appears to be full fuctional at this time.
Working on BELLY, does fine. Working on greetings when people come to the door, Duke has been barking. Doesn't matter who or when, he barks or barks and wags. WPR working on it this weekend.
Major:
Is part kangaroo, but a very sweet dog, and eager to learn. Adam is doing well.
