Star~70
Mark was sick this week so Paul worked with Star alot. Her retrieve seems to be intermittant so I asked Mark to work on it by playing more retrieval games with her, making it a very fun game with lots of praise and food rewards. She did retrieve the pen, the dumbell and the cell phone but wouldn't retrieve anything metal and wouldn't do it on the first command. She is also shaky on commands given from a prone position.

Working beautifully with the GL on~tug, speak, etc., but I suspect that it's not on from morning to night as I requested. He is still trying to rub it off, although not nearly as often as even two weeks ago. His obedience is coming along, Mike still has to give second commands on occasion and it's getting worse~puberty/adolescence is upon us. :P WPR Lisa says that he's not been doing as well as he had been so it's not situational, it's a phase. I have asked them to try a little harder with him and not allow "punky puppy" behaviors. This is the reason for dogs staying with us until they're 15 months old~they're done with this phase and ready to settle in!

My Star of the Week! AJ has been working tirelessly with that puppy! He knows his name, comes, sits, downs with a cookie, waits, comes on command, and is housebroken. He is happy to sleep at AJ's feet or work with his alternate handler, Renee. He will go out next week with his WPR, Michele.

Our Shiloh Shepherd is here! WPR Dawn dropped her off after the NEADS graduation on Sunday, 3/2. She is settling in, a little spooked from what the email that I got from Mike said. It is a natural reaction to being uprooted and I am confident that she will "own the place" in no time~she's that kind of girl! I also have her with my most experienced handler, Paul. He has experience not only with the NEADS dogs, but with GSDs. She couldn't be in better hands, and I am expecting great things from them both.
