General~65
General looks great this week, obedience is beautiful, position is excellent. Mark is still working on teaching him how to be an "anchor dog" and it's going beautifully. His "in motion" commands need a bit of work so we continue to work on them. We walked puppies through the obedience class again this week and he was great, didn't break right up until the puppy jumped onto his face!
Jewel~73
Jewel had a bit of a bad stomach this week, so didn't put on as much weight as I had hoped. We're giving her Nutri-stat to try to increase her appetite and add calories. She is eating 6 cups of food a day and is still under what I would like her weight to be at by about 10 lbs. Her obedience continues to be very good, if slow. :) She does get excited about the puppies and her biggest challenge is still Draco and other German Shepherds~she really likes her "brothers". We did work on the skateboard this week too, she appears fine with it until the rider gets within 6 feet of her, then she watches it, until Roger comes to distract her.
Sully~56
Sully did really well with Scott this week! All stay commands, beginner fetching, and attention work are excellent. His heel is also really good. He cannot hold a down when a new dog enters the room but the nails, grooming, and teeth are excellent now, being done daily. He rode with me again this week, perfect in the car (convertible), no fidgiting. He worked with WPR Lisa like they have been a team for months. Because of his alert barking, Paul worked with him this week~Paul loves him, and now they have bonded. Also to address the alert barking, we had him at the training center when the flyball team came in on Friday night. Those dogs tend to be very bouncy, barky dogs so we worked on getting Sully's attention away from the dogs and onto Lisa. We had to bring out the big guns (cheese!) but he was able to ignore the dogs after a while. There was minimal barking at PCC this week, but on Saturday at group class he did have a bit of an episode when the puppies came out.
