Training notes, 10/24/09

Saturday training class-we mixed things up a bit in class today. We had an infant visit our class and the dogs did well with him. Sally decided that she needed a closer look while I was holding him and jumped up, but corrected quickly and didn't repeat the behavior.
We did recalls with several cups of kibble dumped all over the floor, no problems.
Lots of exercises with dogs walking toward/behind/around each other, no problems.
Deacon-70lbs-24inches-we missed him in class today, but he looked great yesterday with Scott. I am looking forward to seeing him on Tuesday.
Sally-60lbs-won the fastest sit competition today-again!-but broke when Bramble broke to run around the room a bit. All in all, a good day, no vocalization. Dawn is working on playing tug with her as she appears to have lost the drive for that particular command. She will fetch and hold a variety of items and will carry at the heel.
JC-48lbs-her recall is much better, obedience is better in general. She pulled Steve in the door again this week, and still has crooked sits. Working on it. JC is a very small female and seems to be calm and relaxed in any situation. She is attending daycare weekly on Mondays and her WPR lives in a city, so she is eexposed to those sights and sounds on a regular basis. She does not like the GL much and has a small rub over her left eye from trying to get it off. Her first experience with snow went pretty well, no problems in a pouring rain either. Recall out of play for handler was good. She is now carrying dumbell during tasks and on walks.
