All dogs have the TURN command at the heel and are working at it in the SIDE position.
Rubin is doing really well in his task work, no problems to report so we are concentrating on getting him out and about. I believe that Rubin will be finished early, he is such a smart willing puppy!
Merlin is still scratching, but I learned that his handler was giving him treats that could have been the cause of it, so we're back to the drawing board, trying to figure out what's making that boy itch. He has no wheat/corn/soy in his diet, protein is fish and or lamb. His obedience is really nice, as is his enthusiasm for the work and his handlers. He is coming along well.
Duke was released from daycare, mostly for behaving like a GSD. He is having trouble with self-control around food and we're continuing to work VERY hard on LEAVE IT. He liberated food from WPR Jamie's 12 month old last week and did it again with another child at an outing that we went to last weekend. Task/attention work is great, as long as we're not in a place with food. He gets along well with the other dogs in the string but can be pushy with dogs that he doesn't know. Big confident dogs are never a problem. I am hoping to get Duke neutered this week.
Chopper was found to have giardia again, so he has been on grapefruit seed extract 3X/day with food for two weeks. Since he was not in dire straights, I got the go ahead to try a homeopathic remedy on him rather than another round of meds. A stool sample was sent to his vet on Friday and we are expecting results today. He hasn't gone out for over two weeks, so we're really hoping that he's negative. Chopper is a happy little guy who likes to work for his handler. His obedience is good, his retrieve is coming along well, and his focus is good. Our only problem with him is that he is still only 32lbs. at 6 months old and I am a little nervous that he will not be able to complete certain tasks well because of his size.
