Rubin Visit
Rubin~I had the opprotunity to take Rubin out with me last night to Edaville Railroad. He was pulling and sniffing in the dirt parking lot on the way in, and would only attend when I had food for him. Unfortunately, his position was then completely off. Would not complete an UNDER command without food lure. He got on and off and rode the train easily, but the whistle was a problem. Every time he heard it his ears pinned back. While in a crowd, he would not hold sit position and kept begging for food. He got onto the school bus this morning, no problems, but handler was not able to get him to walk on or off at a step at a time.
Merlin~Merlin also came to Edaville, no issues. He seemed to enjoy the ride on the train, no problems. Bus was more challenging, he is very big and a school bus is a bit cramped. He did seem to figure it out and was happy enough to ride. No loose stool after either trip.

Duke UNDER
Duke~WPR Jamie and I had a chance to compare notes this morning while on the bus ride. It appears that Duke is a bit claustrophobic. She first noticed it in a doctor's office appointment room. No problems walking through the hospital or into the room, but when there were 4 people, dog and baby in a very small overly warm room, Duke started panting and barking. He also panted when he rode to Boston with me recently. I thought he was warm, but even with the window open (FREEZING) he still panted. I thought it was seperation stress, but I drive a Mini~it's alot smaller that the SUV that WPR drives. Jamie's going to work on getting Duke into smaller places and rewarding him for attention~first one, school bus this morning. Duke did well, a bit of panting and yawning but held position. No barking. Second one, the entrance at Happy Tails. Duke barked at another dog on his way in, panting.
Chopper~Chopper has been excused from our program for food aggression with other dogs. I am working now on a new home for him!
